Comparing a motor's horsepower with a watt rating? Put both in the same unit: one mechanical horsepower is about 745.7 watts. FluffyBench's Power Converter does that math as you type.
Watt (W), Kilowatt (kW), Mechanical horsepower (hp).
The result list also gives your value in the other power units, each with its own Copy button.
FluffyBench converts your number on this page, without sending it anywhere for conversion.
Limits Input value takes a number; the unit goes in From.
Think of filling a bucket: the faucet's flow is power, and the water that collects is energy. A watt is one joule of energy every second, and a kilowatt is 1,000 watts.
So a kW rating tells you how fast, and a kWh figure tells you how much. Watts, kilowatts and horsepower all measure the flow, which is why FluffyBench's Power Converter can swap between them. A number in kWh is an energy total, and that's a job for FluffyBench's Energy Converter.
Here's a 2 hp rating turned into watts, from choosing the units to copying the answer.
If you see “Enter a decimal number for Value.”, take the unit and any commas out of Input value. If FluffyBench says Copy was unavailable, select the result and copy it yourself.
FluffyBench's hp is mechanical horsepower, about 745.7 W. A rating marked PS (metric horsepower) is about 10 W smaller, and electrical horsepower is 746 W.
The From list has no PS or electrical choice, so turn those ratings into watts first by multiplying by their own factor.
Then convert those watts with Watt under From. Here's the 100 PS example in kilowatts.
Copy gives the plain number, without thousands commas or a unit. Add W where you paste it, unless the field is already labeled in watts.
